Jesus was angry at the hardness of their hearts

And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.

MARK 3:5

I was just reminded of this verse this morning. The Lord loves His church but is angry about the hardness of hearts in it regarding much, including His people not taking Him for His Word to heal the sick.

In Mark 3 above, when a poor man was suffering with leprosy and Jesus wanted to heal Him and end his suffering, imagine, the people’s response to seeing someone’s suffering end was “hardness of their hearts”.

This hardness of hearts is still alive and well in much of, not all, the church today towards seeing people be healed in Jesus’ name. It’s a spiritual battle and a matter of much needed fervent prayer for the church to soften their hearts towards the sick and suffering and to obey Jesus to lay hands on the sick and see them recover.

Please join me in praying for the church to arise you sleepers and do the Word in the earth, unify, etc. so the world knows that Jesus was sent from the Father and is the Christ, the Son of the living God.

The kind of anger Jesus, our Lord felt, righteous anger, can be a motivator for change in the church. But when we are angry, we sin not, we pray and become the change God desires in the church by doing the Word even if you must walk alone in it, do it for Jesus. Of course, He doesn’t want us angry all the time, but to use it for our good to do good.

reach out seek the one says the Lord

REACH OUT. Seek the one, says the Lord

I was talking to the Lord this morning about how far below and not in line with the Word much of the church is in many things, but this morning it was regarding simple “Jesus” kindness and love towards each other.

For example, not once but many times, I’ve known widows and single moms with fatherless children who were hurting and going through terrible things and who regularly go to church or have been home bound because of a sick child and were “invisible” to the church. People knew they were suffering, hurting, etc., and literally no one, zero brothers and sisters even reached out to even pray with them. None.

Not saying it to boast. At. All. Because, it’s simply what Word says to do but sharing because maybe it will help one church or person be the spark and change in his/her church.

On behalf of widows/single moms with fatherless children, I’ve tried to arrange home ministry visits (multiple times) with very large churches in their area as well as at least a handful of churches in their area in general, and no one was “discipled enough” in any of them to visit a widow and her sick child to minister to them. They literally said, “No, we don’t do that.” What is so heartbreaking for me to bear is that this behavior most often comes from church leadership that is supposed to know the Word better than anyone. Who is supposed to be making disciples, so the load of helping others is not on them (a few people) but on the entire discipled flock. Supposed to be.

The Word, in many places, tells us that we take an active not passive role in blessing others.

We don’t wait for them to have to beg and beg to be seen and helped. No, we love Jesus so much that we actively reach out, seek them, make sure they are okay. Need prayer, food, etc. But my observation on many occasions is that these widows and their children were mere inconveniences and not potential good donors, not important enough to them in some way to bother with them. They’d had to practically beg to be seen and heard by their brothers and sisters and shepherds and remind them of their (her and children) existence. This is utter biblical ignorance and not doing the Word.

The Word says in Isaiah 1:17, “Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow.”

God speaks this in command form. We actively do these things. The widow and fatherless child doesn’t have to beg to be seen, helped, ministered to, etc. NO! The church knows the Word (or should) and is very intentional about doing it and making enough disciples so all are helped and blessed among them. I’m using widows, etc. as an example here, but all brothers and sisters among the church should be cared for, about, and sought out.

Prayer

Father, again I cry out. Shake the church awake. I prophesy to the church, ARISE, you sleepers. Shake the scales and blackness off the hearts of Your people, Lord God. Set their Spirits on fire to live Your Word in Jesus’ name, amen.

When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’”

10 obstacles to receiving healing

ONE.

Unbelief. His children often have faith but what they struggle with is unbelief.

So, what is unbelief? For unbelievers, it’s outright rejecting Jesus as Lord. For believers, it’s outright rejecting His Word, refusing to take Him for His Word, or magnifying circumstances above God and what His Word says.

One demonstrates that he/she has faith by praying to Him and asking Him to heal us, but is double-minded in all his/her ways because soon after is demonstrating every point of unbelief. This can also be caused by attending churches that teach man-made doctrines based on unbelief and not God’s Word (e.g. Those that teach that healing is not for today or those who only pray for healing like, “If it be God’s will,” a totally unbiblical way to pray about healing. Biblical ways to pray for healing.

Read Matthew 13:58; and Numbers 13:30-33; 14:Numbers 14:20-24 for examples of unbelief and note that God considers unbelief (not taking Him at His Word) as rejecting Him personally because He is the Word and equates Himself with it fully and exactly – John 1:1;14. For believers this of course doesn’t mean loss of salvation because that’s impossible – Hebrews 10:14.

TWO.

Not knowing the Word for oneself. For example, “Why did prophecies say Jesus would come as Messiah? What did Jesus say about Himself and how He represented God’s will for us in the earth? And what did He do to fulfill those prophecies?

Answers:

Isaiah 35:4-6, “Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God;  He will come and save you.” Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the mute sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert.”

Isaiah 53:4-6, “Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”

John 14:9, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father.” Jesus is the “brightness of His glory and the express image of His person” (Hebrews 1:3).

Jesus came to save the lost and and heal us spiritually and physically from sickness and disease, and we see Him doing just that all throughout the gospels, never denying one person. And when He does these things – saves and heals the sick – He tells us if you’ve seen Me, You’ve seen the Father, and I AM the express image or perfect representation of the Father – His love, His will, His character, etc. Again, Jesus healed ALL and only did good and only loosed people from the oppression of sickness placed on them by the devil.

THREE.

Not knowing from the Word that it’s His will to heal all and heal all diseases. Many examples in the gospels and the Word for you to study where Jesus, the representation of God’s perfect will, healed all and heals all our diseases, but here’s one in Acts 10:38, “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”

FOUR.

Attributing sickness to and blaming God for it instead of the works of the devil which Jesus came to destroy. But where does God say sickness is from?

Acts 10:38, “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing ALL who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”

Luke 13:16, “So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?”

1 John 3:8, “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

So, we see clearly that Jesus refers to sickness as a work of the devil (oppression, bound by Satan), and what did He come in the flesh to do? Destroy them. Again, which includes sickness.

FIVE.

Not understanding what, “Jesus took upon Himself and fully redeemed His children from what’s considered ALL the curse of the law,” and its relationship with sickness. Sickness is part of the curse of the law, so God doesn’t put sickness of us because of Jesus who took it all for us. Read Deuteronomy 28 to see all Jesus took upon Himself that’s considered a curse (including sickness).

SIX.

Making sickness one’s identifying by constantly talking about it and allowing a sickness/physical affliction to become rooted as person’s main identity instead of Christ and speaking and taking God’s Word about one’s identity and what He says about healing. Can be especially true with diseases like autism or neuroimmune disorders because they affect behaviors and affect personality. But if we recall that these disorders are manifestations of brain/gut inflammation, brain/gut disorders, brain/gut damage, we are not going to go around referring to our child as, “Hello, brain inflammation, how are you today?”

We don’t call a person afflicted with cancer, cancer-istic, so we must not make autism, etc. our child’s identity just because it affects their behaviors and personality. No person’s identity is a sickness AKA no person’s identity is a work of the devil. Ponder this revelation to help your faith.

SEVEN.

Learning and believing false teachings about healing and then not checking the Word for oneself to see if what one is being taught is the truth. For example, Paul’s thorn in the flesh. Pastors and teachers of the Word have substituted everything under the sun for that thorn. Learn the truth here that the thorn was a demonic spirit “messenger” working through people to persecute him by trying to undo the gospel everywhere he went. It was not sickness.

EIGHT.

Literally not wanting to be healed. In John 5:6 Jesus says, “Do you want to be made well?” In this case in the Word, the man said yes, but sometimes people don’t want to be healed and have made sickness their identity. It’s their free will choice whether or not they take God for His Word for healing. It’s not for us to judge or try to convince them otherwise. BUT they shouldn’t criticize those who do desire take God for His Word and for healing. But don’t get into arguments in them. Just bless them, move on, and cease from sharing your desire for healing with them

NINE.

Not willing to consider that all or part of a sickness may be a spirit of infirmity or unclean spirit. Luke 13:16, “And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up.” Mark 7:25, “For a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard about Him, and she came and fell at His feet.” Mark 9:25, “When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!”

TEN.

Creating one’s own “doctrine” regarding healing based on personal experiences, what they see, or statistics and outcomes of others with the same/similar condition. We walk by faith and not by sight. By His Word not by what we see. Some lower their faith expectations to what they see, experience, what other’s have experienced in the natural, or doctors’ reports, etc. instead of raising their faith up to His Word (as above) and allow it to tell their faith what to do.

If you are believing God for healing, I strongly suggest guarding your heart and being careful with whom you share your healing prayer requests with because the current, lukewarm church is steeped in unbelief and false / perverted teachings of the gospel/Word.

Humbly, all of this teaching is from the Holy Spirit leading me into all truth (John 16:13) after He led me to do a doctrine wash of all the wring teachings I’d received in churches.

P.S. People do get healed based on the faith of others which is also in the Word but not what this post is about.

Fall in love Oswald and his friends in this action-packed, nail-biting, twisty-turny, hits-you-right-in-the-heart, just can’t put it down read.

Review

“What 12 year year old wouldn’t like to have the ability to become invisible? Oswald Spoon does just that by making an invisibility suit in this novel written by homeschool mom D.L. Perching. Included in this book of intrigue is humor and quick wit by the main character and his friends as they try to discover what happened to Oswald’s brother Ewan. It is a great read that includes great moments of friendship and being yourself, despite individual differences. These friends pull together as a team to try to make a difference in the great cause of modern slavery.

This would be a great book for middle school students who love a good mystery. The humor D.L. Perching injects into the storyline makes for a very readable tale. This is the author’s first book and I hope that there are many books more to follow!” – Homeschool Literature

How the Holy Spirit led me to write under a pen name for my son’s protection in case you missed it here.

MATT 2 13-14

Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.” When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt.

MATTHEW 2:13-14

A few years ago when I was writing my first book, a fiction, middle grade, mystery novel, I knew with certainty by the Holy Spirit that I was to write it under a pen name because of the abuse God delivered me and my son from and my son was still a minor.

I’m working on another book now, a non-fiction prayer book, and was talking to the Lord about it and said, “Maybe it’s time to publish this book under my given name,” and I immediately sensed a strong warning in my spirit about it. So I sought the Lord and prayed for James 1 wisdom expecting to hear from Him on the matter to confirm if I or He was the source of the dread-like feeling.

Within 24 hours, I was walking and praying and He gave me Matthew 2:13-14 (above) on the matter as the answer which gave me a sudden knowing by the Holy Spirit how I was to proceed on the matter. Using those verses, I knew that I was to continue to publish my current work in progress under a pen name because God was showing me that it was for the protection of my son in some way. Not sure if it was to do with our abusive past from my ex-husband / his father or because my son is currently disabled, but I am 100% certain of how the Lord directed me on the matter.

Then within a few days of the Matthew 2:13-14 word of confirmation and direction, He gave me another real world example to yet again confirm it. I was reading something about C.S. Lewis then saw that he too published a non-fiction book about grief under a pen name regarding all he went through when his wife died.

God knew I would obey Him and follow His guidance from the first word He gave me, but He also knew there was some sadness connected to still having to use a pen name because I didn’t like that we were still required to be in hiding in a sense. But God even required it of His own Son, and it was all out of love and for His protection and to fulfill prophecy. But seeing this example further comforted me. God is good.

Soon after the second confirmation, I was reading a woman’s testimonies on how God used her, a simple woman who cleaned homes and businesses, to lay hands on the sick and see them healed. The very first testimony I read that the woman she laid hands on whom God raised up from a wheelchair asked her, “What is your name?” And the woman said, “It doesn’t matter what my name is? Jesus healed you.” Wow! Her words blew me away and deeply impacted me because I am not writing, serving, working, or doing anything to make a name for myself, so it doesn’t really matter what name I publish under but that anything I do, I do for the glory of the Lord and unto the Lord.

Reading the Word of course is simply doing just that. This testimony is an example of God using His Word to speak to me through it and give me a knowing of wisdom. He is faithful, and when we really care to do His will and obey Him, we can count on hearing from Him for direction when we ask. I pray this testimony blessed you and helps you the next time you need wisdom from the Lord.

choose amusement

The gift of laughing at myself was given to me by my mother. She’s been in the U.S. over forty years and still has a thick Hispanic accent and says the FUNNIEST things and makes the FUNNIEST mistakes and always laughs at herself. Like asking me the instructions to something for the zillionth time and reciting it to me, and STILL getting it so wrong, so very wrong that we cry laughing together.

Also, I’ve been correcting her English from the time I was a toddler, and we find humor in it and her hilarious pronunciations.

So today, I had the most difficult time taking a serious photo of myself. One of my eyes would do something weird in one photo, then it would be my hair.

Laughter party of one.

I quickly clicked those photos of me laughing because it’s so important to laugh. I’ve been through some dark times, and the Lord had to remind me to choose joy, laughter, and to be easily amused, so I do, and it truly helps.

A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones” (Proverbs 17:22).

Laughter keeps our spirits from withering up.

The Word says God laughs

We are made in the image of God, so, of course He laughs. Some say, in disbelief, that the Lord would never cause someone to laugh with joy under the Holy Spirit, but I call, unbelief. I call fitting God into their comfort level. I call limiting God. I call God’s Word says “a merry heart does good, like medicine,” and He would and has for me touched me with His power and caused me to laugh so hard I couldn’t stop. Because He loves me, because He wants me well. Because it was an answer to my prayer to take away the pain and darkness and oppression I felt under the weight of things I went through that I thought would kill me. He used God-powered laughter, in line with His Word, as a vessel for much needed healing and joy to my spirit.

I know how it feels to have a broken spirit that dries the bones. To be so consumed with exhaustion from seeing my son suffer that all my body wanted to do was to lie down and die and open my eyes in the presence of my Lord Jesus. Some badly dried and brittled bones I had. But glory to God, he is healing progressively, is nothing like he was before, and I stand on God’s Word for my son’s total healing.

I know I am VERY serious about God and His Word and the true Gospel being preached. I know I get offended FOR God when lies are being told about Him, His Word, and character, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love to laugh until I cry, until my belly aches.

God desires that we laugh and walk in joy. Choose to do so at every opportunity. Don’t  take yourself so seriously.

P.S. I am going a giveaway of my pro-life booklet and would love for you to check out the details, enter, and share with your friends wherever you can. Thank you.

Sun Stand Still

Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel:

Sun, stand still over Gibeon;
And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.”
So the sun stood still,
And the moon stopped,
Till the people had revenge
Upon their enemies.

Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day. And there has been no day like that, before it or after it, that the Lord heeded the voice of a man; for the Lord fought for Israel. – Joshua 10:12-14

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. – 2 Chronicles 16:9

God’s eyes are looking throughout the whole earth for hearts who are loyal to Him and take Him for His Word.

Prayer

Father, by Your Holy Spirit, we loose Holy Spirit boldness to Your people. Grace them with faith that moves mountains. We believe, help, Lord, any unbelief. Let the words of our mouths magnify You above all things, all sickness, all disease, every trial and difficulty. Let us magnify and praise You and praise You for Your Word to pray for all matters concerning us in Jesus’ name, amen.
